Site Preparation
If you are worrying about what you have to do to prepare for your new structure. Worry no more! The Carriage Shed tries to make this process as painless as possible.
All of our Amish made sheds and barns are built on pressure treated 4x4’s. The Horse Barns and Run-In Sheds are built on pressure treated 6x6’s. This is great news for you.
If you have level ground and great drainage, no site preparation is necessary. We do suggest 3” to 5” of hardpack or ¾ crushed stone. This can be placed on road fabric, which stabilizes the soil and keeps the soil from mixing. The size of your pad depends on the size of your building. We do suggest some margin. For example if you order a 10’x12’ standard A-frame shed then we suggest a 12’x14’ pad.
